3.2 How to remove our stores, powered by Prestashop and so on

I think most of the people that start a webshop do this because they have no store. If you followed all my article’s you should still have a “Our stores”-block on your front end. If you want to remove this block is up to you. I will briefly explain how to delete it and after that I will tell you some other tough nuts to crack within Prestashop.

How to delete/remove the our stores block in Prestashop

Use the following steps to delete/remove the our stores block from your Prestashop front end.

  1. Go to your back-end;
  2. Go to the modules tab;
  3. You can find the “Stores block” under “Front Office Features” or simply type: “Stores…..” and so on;
  4. Now click “Uninstall“;

Now if you go to the front page you will see the “Stores block” is gone but then there is a link in the footer and in the information block on the left. And even if you delete these links the page will still be there! And Google can still index the page which means people can still get there by accident.

How to delete/remove our stores from the CMS block in Prestashop

The block on the left called “Information” is called the CMS block you will find this block in both the modules as the tools tab.

Now there are a few strange things about this but I will go trough it every step of the way:

  1. Go to your back-end;
  2. Go to the tools tab;
  3. Go to CMS;

Now here is where you change all of the items and text that is in the information block. But wait! Our stores isn’t there?!

Now go to the CMS block module:

  1. Go to your back-end;
  2. Go to The modules tab;
  3. You can find the “CMS block” under “Front Office Features” or simply type: “cms…..” and so on;
  4. Click configure;
  5. Now you should see something like the following;
  6. module cms block prestashopAnd here is where you do your “CMS block configuration” for Prestashop or your “Footer’s various links Configuration“;

But still no “Our stores” link. And that’s exactly the reason why there are so many topics of this problem on the Prestashop forum.

Delete/remove links from Prestashop that are hard coded in the template files

To remove the “Our stores” link and several other links from the Prestashop front end you have to open Filezilla again and find the right template. To do so follow these steps:

  1. Open Filezilla and connect to your host;
  2. Go to the modules/blockcms/ folder;
  3. Now right click on the blockcms.tpl file and press view/edit;
  4. This might sound strange but just do a search for stuff like: “Our stores“, “Top sellers”, “Specials”, “Powered by Prestashop” and so on and delete the rows that you don’t want.
  5. Empty your Smarty cache to see the changes.
